Artist’s Statement
Known for her passion for color, AJ Keith’s paintings convey spontaneity and energy.
Using the palette knife in lieu of a paintbrush, AJ captures a variety of subjects including florals, seascapes, and landscapes with bold strokes and texture. “The choice to paint with a palette knife instead of a brush is similar to the impasto technique which gives the painting a sculptural feel” says the artist.
AJ has studied at the Art Students League of Denver and is currently studying with a private instructor. Her work has exhibited throughout metro Denver including the Colorado Collection at DIA, Framed Image, Alpine Fine Art, Denver Athletic Club and Columbine Gallery in Frisco. She is a member of The Art Group; artists who gather for artistic camaraderie, to share practical tips in the creation and business of art and to celebrate the art spirit.
